DING!

This weekend was about as productive as could be, I think, while still being enjoyable. Not only did I reach level 50 (and my 49th achievement point) but I finished the Journeyman Boots Heritage quest, along with the Fishbone earring quest, and my Carpet quest, for my first mount in Everquest 2.
I had an amazing time with my guild mates this weekend doing all of these quests, running through the zones on the Amazing Race to beat the clock. I had one very close call in the Orcish Wastes, where my computer froze in a memory leak error, RIGHT as I was standing next to the NPC to finish the quest. I had 5 minutes left on the timer, but I was still freaking out, hoping I would make it back in. I did, thankfully, with almost three minutes to spare. Needless to say I turned on max performance for the last leg of the quest, just to make sure I didn't drop out again. I have to say, Everquest 2 is an UGLY game with everything turned off.

After I finished all of that, I decided to have a look around Maj'Dul and the Sinking Sands, and so far I really enjoy the zone. It reminds me so much of the Ro zones, and the Oasis. Everything from the Specters floating around the tower on an island in the middle of a lake, to the wandering Madmen who drop nothing but water. Even the Ruins surrounded by ghouls and other undead is there. Gigantic beetles and spiders, wandering dried up mummies, THIS is what I wanted most of all from Everquest 2. I wanted to feel at home, as if I really was in the same world I played in before, only 500 years later.

Maj'Dul is a really cool city in itself, and I am really loving the Arabian theme. Both the Sinking Sands zone and Maj'Dul are a blast to explore, with tons of climbable areas (yes even in the city) and hidden crevices. I even found a magic lamp on a small island that transported me to a zone with arena style combat akin to the Splitpaw arena.
I truly couldn't be happier with this content, and cannot WAIT to get back in game and explore some more!

Is the giant croc still around too? :) I forgot his name...Lockjaw?

That is a GREAT question, and I aim to find out. I remember getting a couple groups of people together to kill Lockjaw back when we had first entered the Oasis, I think he dropped a leather vest? I'll take a look around and see if I can find him. :)

Yep, Lockjaw is still around. He is in a raid instance, however; not a contested mob.

He is around. You will need a few groups to get to him though.. *smirks* He's quite.. epic.. these days... You'll find him hiding in Sinking Sands though.. well, you'll find a door to his cave at least ;)
